In Doug's final weeks, the compassion shown by the St. Edward community meant more than words can express. When he came for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, parish staff graciously recognized his frailty and welcomed him forward with kindness and care. Shortly thereafter, Father Mauro came to Doug's home to administer the Anointing of the Sick, bringing comfort, prayer, and God's presence to him and those who loved him.
